This program provides students with a deep understanding of global HR management and an insight into the impact and challenges of digital transformation on HR today.

  • The MSc IHRM combines theoretical knowledge with a strong technical and practical orientation to enable students to master key operational concepts while developing their soft skills. The program has an international focus, as the ever-increasing globalization of business impacts HRM and provides an insight into the impact and challenges of digital transformation on HR today. The program explores how HR strategy fits into overall corporate strategy, the key differences between International Human Resource Management (IHRM) and domestic HRM, and the skills required to recruit, manage and enhance talent. It is designed for graduates who wish to pursue management careers at national and international levels.

Participants will develop the know-how and competencies to identify and understand the HR issues facing business today and develop appropriate strategies to ensure that effective people management strategies create competitive advantage and sources of value.

This program also specializes in the analysis of the impact and challenges of digital transformation on HR today.

    *The content of the program may be adapted from year to year to take into account the needs of industry. Class attendance is compulsory.

Year 2 - Final Management Project

At the end of the one-academic-year full-time part of the program, each student will be required to complete a Final Management Project of approximately 15,000 words in length, under the guidance of a tutor. This is an applied or theoretical research project that can be completed at a distance and in parallel with full-time employment or an approved internship. To successfully complete the Final Management Project, students are required to address a particular research question or knowledge gap in their chosen field of their study. This will be business oriented and coherent with the program's objectives. A student may choose to write their project on a topic grounded in their internship experience.


Foreign Languages

Operating in an international environment requires foreign language fluency and therefore a foreign language module is an option on the program for all students.

Non-French speakers may study French (beginner to advanced level). This option is highly advised for those who are looking to become professionals in France. French speakers may choose from a number of other languages at beginner level.

Study Trip

Students on the program will participate in a 2-day HR study trip, to visit differents kinds of organizations. Previously students met with P&G (Procter & Gamble), ILO (International Labour Organization), UNICEF and WTO (World Trade Organization).

Live Business Case

The Live Business Case (LBC) gives the students the opportunity to apply their learning directly to a real HR issue offered by a participating company. Students will work in teams and develop their LBC over several months in parallel to the taught part of the program. They will meet with their assigned company and LBC coach regularly to define and review the objectives of their project and the expected deliverables. The objective of the LBC is for MSC IHRM students to help real companies find innovative solutions to address their HR issues and enable them to improve their HR process with digital tools.

Personal and Professional Development Workshops

In addition to the core courses, students can attend personal and professional development workshops. These workshops cover current topics of interest, recent trends in management and career development. They serve as a complement to the core modules.

Innovative Learning for Career Progression

You will be encouraged to develop your professional skills through a series of innovative learning activities. By taking part in real-life professional experimentations and in GEM’s renowned “serious games”, you will be encouraged to develop your soft skills (teamwork, presentation, negotiation, leadership).

This postgraduate MSc program is open to both young and mature graduates from any field. A minimum of one year’s work/internship experience is recommended, but not mandatory depending on profile.

  • Bachelor-level undergraduate degree in any subject with a good grade average.
  • Work experience is not compulsory.
  • The GMAT is not required for this program.

    Please note that for your initial application we ask only for copies of documents. If you are accepted, we will then request to send digital certified copies that you will be asked to present during the induction week. More details about certified copies per nationality are explained on the application form.

    To ensure GEM is the right fit for you, you may be asked to participate in an interview. You will be notified if an interview is necessary after the Admission Board meets.

Grenoble campus: 19,450 Euros for 2 years*

Program fees include:

  • Tuition, project supervision, and access to GEM facilities
  • Travel and accommodation for the International Study Trip. Please note that students are responsible for the payment and arrangement of a visa if necessary.

Program fees do not cover accommodation, meals, insurance, visa, and personal expenses.

Students are required to pay an additional 250€ in student services and administrative fees in Year 1 and a further 250€ for student card renewal in Year 2.

Note

All academic qualifications, including those earned at GEM, are recognized at the discretion of each country or university. Students seeking admission to a further course of study or who wish to work in specific country after their GEM program may need to have their GEM degree certified through a process specified by the receiving authority. Before starting a GEM program, students who know that they want to work or study in another country or university are responsible for verifying if their intended GEM degree will be recognized.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Visa requirements may apply to International Students in order to study or work in the country. All international students are expected to verify requirements with their local French consulate and plan accordingly. Grenoble Ecole de Management has no influence over this process.
